HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. Begin a New Filing

When users initiate a case (or file on an existing one) with Auto-File enabled, they will be greeted with a brand-new document upload screen. This updated interface is designed to streamline the process of uploading and extracting data from your documents.

2. Upload Documents

Filers may either drag and drop their documents into the box or click the 'Select Files' link to open their computer’s file manager and select their files individually. We’ll automatically convert most native file formats (i.e. Word, WordPerfect, JPG, PNG, GIF, TIF) into the Court’s preferred Adobe PDF format, upon upload. Click the 'Done Adding Documents' button and our software will begin filling out your filing based on your document’s extracted information.

3. Verify Your Information

With the extraction complete, our system will auto-fill your filing information: court, case type/number, document types, and party information. Verify all extracted information for accuracy. You may edit your information as needed and/or add more documents and parties.

That's it!

When ready, select a payment type and submit your filing to the court.

Please note: There is an additional $1.00 processing fee for all Auto-File submissions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do the notifications for e-filings work the same?

Absolutely. Everything about the e-filing workflow stays exactly as you're used to. The only difference is that this feature does the heavy lifting for you by pulling data from your documents to fill out the filing screen automatically.

Does the AI platform keep the information confidential?

Yes.

Do you handle the RTF conversion for documents required to be filed in RTF format?

No. Please ensure any documents requiring RTF format are converted prior to upload. Our system will process the file in the format provided, but it does not automatically convert PDFs or Word docs to RTF for you.

By "we" who do you mean? Who is extracting the data from the documents?

When we say "we," we are referring to the Green Filing platform. The system uses a combination of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and AI tools to automatically read your documents and pre-populate the filing screen for you.

What about file size? Does each file still have to be under 7MB?

Yes. Nothing changes about file size limits. These are imposed by the court.

If a legal assistant is sending the email for multiple attorneys, how do we designate the filing attorney?

The Green Filing platform automatically detects the filing attorney based on the information provided in the document's content and signature section.

What happens if two documents have conflicting data (e.g., one is the wrong document)?

The system is designed to identify and prioritize the most consistent data points across your documents. However, if the information is too contradictory to resolve safely, the auto-file process will stop. You will receive an error notification and be directed to a manual filing screen to review the details and make the necessary corrections.

When is Auto-File available?

Auto-File is available now. To enable, just go to Settings > User Preferences and enable the feature on your account.

Can I change the document order after they've loaded?

Yes. Next to each document in the list, there is a "handle icon." Hover your mouse over it, then click and drag the document up or down to rearrange the filing sequence.

Is the price per filing or per document?

The price is per submitted and accepted filing.

Will the system distinguish between an Unlawful Detainer action and a Debt Collection?

Yes. The platform is designed to identify and distinguish between different case types, including Unlawful Detainer and Debt Collection. If you ever notice an error in the automatic selection, please provide us with the example so our team can fine-tune the logic for even greater accuracy.

Does the system provide an error for oversized files?

Yes. The platform validates file sizes against court specifications. If a document is too large, an error notification will appear, preventing the submission until the file size is reduced to meet the requirements.
