FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When we email a document, how is it matched to our Green Filing account?

The system matches your filing to your account based on your sender email address. For the process to work, you must send the documents from an email address associated with an active Green Filing account that has the eFile by eMail feature enabled. If the email address is not recognized or the feature is disabled, the filing will not be processed, and you will receive a notification email.

If a legal assistant is sending the email for multiple attorneys, how do we designate the filing attorney?

The Green Filing platform automatically detects the filing attorney based on the information provided in the document's content and signature section.

Does the AI platform keep the information confidential?

Yes.

Do we have to submit in RTF format in email filings, or do you convert them to RTF format for us?

You must submit them in RTF format. If you are using the eFile by eMail feature for a document that requires RTF, you must attach the document already in that format. The system does not automatically convert files for you.

By "we" who do you mean? Who is extracting the data from the documents?

When we say "we," we are referring to the Green Filing platform. The system uses a combination of OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and AI tools to automatically read your documents and pre-populate the filing screen for you.

What about file size? Does each file still have to be under 7MB?

Yes. Nothing changes about file size limits. These are imposed by the court.

Do the notifications for e-filings work the same?

Absolutely. Everything about the e-filing workflow stays exactly as you're used to. The only difference is that this feature does the heavy lifting for you by pulling data from your documents to fill out the filing screen automatically.

When is eFile by eMail available?

eFile by eMail is available now. To enable, just go to Settings > User Preferences and enable the feature on your account.

Can I change the document order after they've loaded?

Yes. Next to each document in the list, there is a “handle icon.” Hover your mouse over it, then click and drag the document up or down to rearrange the filing sequence.

Is the price per filing or per document?

The price is per submitted and accepted filing.

Will the system distinguish between an Unlawful Detainer action and a Debt Collection?

Yes. The platform is designed to identify and distinguish between different case types, including Unlawful Detainer and Debt Collection. If you ever notice an error in the automatic selection, please provide us with the example so our team can fine-tune the logic for even greater accuracy.

Does the system provide an error for oversized files?

Yes. The platform validates file sizes against court specifications. If a document is too large, an error notification will appear, preventing the submission until the file size is reduced to meet the requirements.
